Early access terms
Last updated: 28 September 2026. These terms explain how the BuildHarbour early access service works in England. Questions: help@buildharbour.co.uk.
What the service does
BuildHarbour lets homeowners describe projects, receive quotes and message tradespeople. Tradespeople can create profiles and respond to jobs; eligible users can also post or respond on the work board. BuildHarbour provides the online introduction and messaging service. The homeowner and the person doing the work decide the scope, price, timing and contract for the physical work between themselves.
Accounts and accurate information
Use your own account and provide information you are entitled to share. Keep your login details private. Do not post a full home address or sensitive personal details in an open job. Tradespeople and workers must describe their experience honestly; posting a profile does not mean BuildHarbour has checked qualifications, identity, insurance or licences. If you arrange regulated work, independently check the person's credentials. Gas work must be carried out by someone registered with Gas Safe.
Quotes, work and fees
Posting a job is free. A quote is a proposal from a tradesperson, not a guarantee that work will be awarded or completed. If an optional paid feature is available, the screen and checkout show its price before you pay. The job details unlock feature, if enabled, gives access to the details of a particular job; a quote submission fee, if enabled, sends that quote. Neither guarantees that the homeowner will hire you. Please check the amount and what you receive before authorising payment. Contact support about a failed service, incorrect charge or refund request. Nothing here removes rights you have under consumer law. Payments for building work are arranged between the homeowner and the tradesperson, outside the platform.
Content and reviews
Only upload text or photos you have the right to use. You keep your rights to your content and allow BuildHarbour to display it to the users who need to see it for the service. Reviews must describe a genuine experience; the review feature is limited to a homeowner whose job was assigned to that tradesperson. We may investigate reports and remove content or restrict accounts when needed to protect the service. See our safety and review rules.
When something goes wrong
Use Report a concern for scams, abuse, unsafe or misleading content. For an immediate threat, contact the appropriate emergency service. For a problem with the physical work, first contact the person you hired and keep your written agreement and evidence; you can also tell us if their conduct on BuildHarbour needs reviewing. We cannot decide disputes about the work or guarantee its quality. This does not limit legal rights or responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Changes and privacy
We may change early access features and will update these terms when the service changes materially. Our privacy notice explains how information is used. You can request help closing your account by emailing help@buildharbour.co.uk.
